Founder's Message

Distinguished Members of the Global Buddhist Community,

Esteemed Diplomats, Partners, and Well-Wishers,

Namo Buddhaya.

It is with profound humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I share this message as the Founder and Secretary of Lord Buddha Welfare Foundation Bharat (LBWFB). Our mission is guided by the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha—compassion, wisdom, and service to humanity.

I was born on 7 November 1986 in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, India. At a defining moment in my life, I inherited a modest parcel of ancestral land. Rather than viewing it as personal property, I resolved that it would be dedicated to a higher purpose—serving society and preserving the sacred legacy of Lord Buddha.

From this conviction emerged the vision of Dhamma Sthali, located in Lal Nagar (Uttar Deeh), District Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh. This sacred site is being developed not merely as a physical complex, but as a spiritual sanctuary—open to all, particularly to those facing economic hardship or health challenges, so they may find peace, reflection, and renewed strength.

Dhamma Sthali houses symbolic representations of Lord Buddha’s life and enlightenment journey, including the Child Buddha, the Bhūmi Sparśa Mudrā (gesture of enlightenment), the Blessing Mudrā, and the Mahāparinirvāṇa posture. Sacred soil representing the spiritual journey from His birthplace to the site of Mahāparinirvāṇa has also been ceremonially established, affirming the sanctity and authenticity of the space.

Our broader vision is to develop Balrampur into an internationally recognized center of Buddhist spirituality and cultural dialogue. Through responsible development, sustainable tourism, and inclusive community engagement, we aim to create opportunities for local employment while preserving the spiritual integrity of the site.

This initiative is not an individual endeavor—it is a collective spiritual movement grounded in the principle of “Bahujan Hitaya, Bahujan Sukhaya”—for the welfare and happiness of many.

We respectfully invite global institutions, diplomatic missions, cultural organizations, and members of the international Buddhist fraternity to collaborate with us in this noble mission. Together, we can establish Dhamma Sthali as a beacon of peace, interfaith harmony, and humanitarian values for generations to come.

With sincere regards and a commitment to compassion and peace,

Divakr Patel

Our Mission

Guided by the principle of “Bahujan Hitaya, Bahujan Sukhaya” (For the welfare and happiness of many), our mission is:

  1. Spiritual Development

To develop Dhamma Sthali as a serene meditation and pilgrimage center.

To preserve and present symbolic representations of Lord Buddha’s life—Childhood, Bhūmi Sparśa Mudrā, Blessing Mudrā, and Mahāparinirvāṇa—offering spiritual education and inspiration.

  1. Social Inclusion

To ensure that individuals facing economic hardship have access to a sacred environment without financial barriers.

To create facilities that promote mental wellness, reflection, and spiritual healing.

  1. Regional Empowerment

To generate employment opportunities for local youth through tourism, cultural programs, and institutional development.

To uplift the socio-economic condition of Balrampur district through responsible and value-driven growth.

  1. Global Engagement

To foster collaboration with international Buddhist communities, diplomatic missions, and cultural institutions.

To host international chanting ceremonies, conferences, and peace dialogues that strengthen global harmony.

-A Journey of Transformation

What was once a small, highly underdeveloped village in Balrampur district has now become a symbol of possibility and progress.

From a place that struggled with neglect and minimal administrative presence, it has evolved into a sacred destination where ambassadors and representatives from various nations visit, participate, and express solidarity in the spirit of peace and Dhamma.

This journey affirms a powerful truth:

When vision is guided by compassion and sustained by determination, even the most remote land can become a beacon of global inspiration.

Our Vision

Dhamma sthali an International Buddhist pilgrimage and Education Centre

To establish Dhamma Sthali as a globally respected center of Buddhist spirituality, peace dialogue, and humanitarian service—rooted in the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha and dedicated to the welfare of humanity.

Our long-term vision is:

To transform Lal Nagar (Uttar Deeh), District Balrampur, into an internationally recognized Buddhist spiritual and cultural destination.

To position Dhamma Sthali on the global Buddhist circuit as a center for meditation, interfaith harmony, and academic exchange.

To promote sustainable spiritual tourism that uplifts the local economy while preserving cultural authenticity.

To create an inclusive sanctuary especially for economically disadvantaged individuals and those facing health challenges, offering them dignity, peace, and spiritual refuge.

Once regarded as a remote and extremely underdeveloped rural area—so much so that even administrative officials hesitated to visit—this land is now witnessing a historic transformation. Today, the same sacred ground welcomes ambassadors and international dignitaries from multiple nations.

This transformation reflects not only infrastructural progress, but the power of vision, faith, and collective goodwill.
