The journey of Dhamma Sthali has always been guided by a vision that extends far beyond the construction of a physical destination. It is a journey dedicated to preserving the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha, strengthening Buddhist heritage, promoting cultural diplomacy, and creating meaningful opportunities for global dialogue through peace, compassion, and wisdom.
At the Lord Buddha Welfare Foundation Bharat (LBWFB), we believe that every initiative should contribute to a larger purpose—the welfare of humanity through Dhamma. Over the years, our Foundation has worked with dedication to develop Dhamma Sthali as a centre where spirituality, culture, education, art, heritage, and international friendship converge. Each milestone has been achieved through collective efforts, the blessings of the Triple Gem, and the encouragement of countless well-wishers from India and abroad.
Today, we are delighted to share another significant chapter in this journey. The Foundation is preparing for the pre-launch of the Dhamma Sthali Coffee Table Book—a landmark publication that documents the vision, evolution, and achievements of Dhamma Sthali while celebrating India’s rich Buddhist legacy. Alongside this prestigious publication, LBWFB is also organising an International Buddhist Art Exhibition, bringing together art, culture, and diplomacy under the universal message of Lord Buddha.
A Coffee Table Book with a Purpose:
Coffee table books are admired around the world because they preserve history through powerful visual storytelling. However, the Dhamma Sthali Coffee Table Book has been conceived as much more than a beautifully designed publication. It is a tribute to a vision that seeks to inspire people across cultures, generations, and national boundaries.
The book captures the architectural beauty of Dhamma Sthali, its spiritual significance, cultural programmes, international Buddhist gatherings, and the dedication of individuals who have contributed to this remarkable initiative. Rich photography, carefully researched narratives, and thoughtfully curated content come together to present an authentic account of a project that continues to evolve with purpose and determination.
More importantly, the publication reflects the enduring relevance of Lord Buddha’s teachings in the twenty-first century. Art has always been one of the most profound expressions of Buddhist philosophy. Across centuries and continents, artists have interpreted the life and teachings of Lord Buddha through sculpture, painting, architecture, calligraphy, and contemporary visual arts.
As part of the pre-launch celebrations, LBWFB is organising an International Buddhist Art Exhibition, where artists from different backgrounds will present works inspired by peace, meditation, compassion, harmony, nature, and the pursuit of enlightenment.
The exhibition seeks to demonstrate that while artistic traditions vary from one country to another, the message of Lord Buddha remains universal. Art has the unique ability to transcend language and geography, creating dialogue where words sometimes fall short. It brings together people from diverse cultures while reminding us of our shared human values.
Through this exhibition, we hope to provide a platform for artists, scholars, diplomats, students, and visitors to engage in meaningful conversations about the role of culture in promoting peace and understanding.
Strengthening India–Sri Lanka Buddhist Relations:
An important milestone in our ongoing journey will take place on 10 September 2026, when a delegation from the Lord Buddha Welfare Foundation Bharat (LBWFB) will visit the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi for a courtesy meeting.
The purpose of this meeting is to present the vision behind the Dhamma Sthali Coffee Table Book and the International Buddhist Art Exhibition while respectfully extending an official invitation to the High Commission to participate in our forthcoming initiatives.
India and Sri Lanka share an extraordinary Buddhist relationship that spans more than two millennia. The teachings of Lord Buddha travelled across the seas to Sri Lanka, where they were preserved, practised, and passed down through generations with remarkable dedication. Today, this shared heritage continues to strengthen the friendship between our two nations.
For LBWFB, this meeting represents more than a diplomatic engagement. It reflects our commitment to building stronger cultural partnerships, encouraging educational collaboration, and promoting international dialogue rooted in the universal values of Dhamma.
We look forward to exchanging ideas, exploring future opportunities for cooperation, and reinforcing the historic bonds that unite our countries through Buddhism.
